Recreation as a driver of microbial dispersal
How do microbes spread across the globe? We know that human-driven globalization and transport are major factors, but travel for tourism and recreation is a sizable component that is often overlooked!
Below are videos showing the literal human microbial footprint! After a walk in the woods, we plated these footprints on media depicting bacterial and fungal growth. Think about how many microbes we potentially move around on a daily basis!

Frog Tubes
Tree frog artificial habitats consisting of a clear tube within an opaque tube. Pulling up the clear tube allows one to see any frogs hanging out inside easily and with minimal disturbance to the animal! This project aims to connect people to nature and promote amphibian conservation!
